Phyllis Widman currently focuses on the areas of Vaccine Injury and Criminal Defense. Ms. Widman is also a Rule 1:40 Civil Mediator, appointed by the Superior Courts of New Jersey to mediate civil litigation disputes.
Ms. Widman is dedicated to providing the best and most comprehensive legal advice. She practiced various areas of law, including criminal defense and civil litigation for 20 years. This varied background has enabled her to learn the nuances of the practice in both court and non-court venues.
Whether Ms. Widman is fighting for her criminal defendants’ freedom and constitutional rights, or she is fighting for a vaccine injured person who is permanently disabled, she utilizes her skills and techniques to provide the most persuasive and convincing arguments for her clients. She enjoys all aspects of handling a case from start to finish and prides herself in her personable approach to clients. She encourages a team effort approach between her client, the client’s family, and her law firm “family.”
Ms. Widman’s criminal defense background is substantial, with nearly 15 years of combined criminal practice in Hudson, Monmouth, Atlantic and Cape May counties, as well as her employment as a former professor at Rutgers University-Newark in the School of Criminal Justice where she taught criminal procedure and constitutional law for four years. She also earned a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice.
Moreover, Ms. Widman obtained an additional postgraduate degree above and beyond her law degree and criminal justice degree: a Master’s Degree in Communications from the Newhouse School of Public Communications, which is one of the top three communications schools in the country.
